Linley & Simpson has welcomed yet another boost to Leeds city centre's growing attraction as a place to live and work.

The Swinegate-based specialists in residential sales and lettings said the £80m Tower Works scheme would breathe extra life to a city centre already undergoing a resurgence – and create 1000s of new jobs.

Once complete, the flagship scheme will have 147 residential units, 92,000 sq ft of commercial office space, and 20,000 sq ft of retail, restaurant and bar spaces.

The development in Holbeck Urban Village forms part of the regeneration of Leeds South Bank and will act as a further spur to home sales and rents.

Linley & Simpson said the development can only add to the appeal of city living - especially in the light of rising travel costs for commuters who work there.

Engineering consultancy WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff has been appointed by developer Carillion to help deliver the landmark project.

Its Leeds office will provide a range of services, including civil and structural engineering, building services and acoustics, for the scheme, which is expected to start on site next January.
