Three tips to keep your white goods in tip top condition...

Tip 1

Over time soap powder and detergents can cause a build up within the outer drum of the appliance causing it to smell. This is exacerbated by modern detergents that only require us to use low temperatures whilst washing.

To prevent the build up, once a month run an empty cycle using a drum cleaner. Or alternatively, pour 2 cups of vinegar and a mixture consisting of ¼ cup of water and ¼ cup of baking soda directly into the drum. Then run a cycle on the hottest temperature (without prewash).

Tip 2

When the Washing Machine is not is use, make sure the door is left ajar to allow air to circulate and to prevent a build up of mould.

Tip 3

The name 'Frost free' for fridge freezers is somewhat misleading as people often falsely believe that frost free means they never need to defrost their fridge freezer. However, frost free actually means that items within the freezer don’t gather frost on the packaging. If your appliance starts to make a noise or the fridge compartment on the fridge freezer starts to increase in temperature, then always try defrosting the appliance for a minimum of 48 hours in the first instance as this will often solve the problem.
