From pub to des-res, the latest addition to the High Street in Harrogate suburb is unveiled

FIVE years after it called last orders for the final time, a historic Harrogate pub has been transformed into a stylish collection of apartments.

Five of the seven homes at Broughton Court in the heart of Starbeck have already been sold, after developers breathed new life into the site of the former Henry Peacock pub.

Located on both the first and second floors, they form part of a new development that also includes a Costa Coffee café and a Pets Corner retail unit beneath.

After closing its doors in 2012, the pub – named after the infamous Harrogate workhouse master of the 1800s - was approved for demolition.

But it stood derelict and fell into disrepair until developers started work last year to create the imaginative new complex that now stands in its place.

All four of the two-bedroom apartments have already been sold and only a pair of one-bedroom apartments remain.

They are being marketed through the Harrogate office of Linley & Simpson and are priced at £147,500 and £149,950 respectively.

Anthony Metcalfe, Senior Branch Manager of Linley & Simpson said: "This is a modern design-led development that adds an extra and more attractive dimension to the Starbeck High Street.

"While it was sad to see the Henry Peacock lost to the community, its building had become an eyesore in recent years.

"This mix of shops and accommodation continues to meet the community’s needs, albeit in a different way."

Both remaining one-bedroom apartments boast spacious, light accommodation.

They provide a very contemporary environment with central heating, sleek white Kerr kitchens with quartz worktops and white goods including Bosch induction hob, fan-assisted oven, integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

A stand-alone washer/dryer is provided in a separate utility cupboard. All sanitary ware is white in a contemporary style.

Each apartment benefits from a private car parking space accessed via an electric gate and, for added security, pedestrian access to the communal areas is accessed via an audio entry phone system.
