NEW family homes have been built as part of a development designed to improve an important gateway into a North Yorkshire village.
Burridge Homes have breathed new life into the site on the edge of Copt Hewick, near Ripon, by demolishing a number of farm buildings and creating five detached homes in their place.
The existing farmhouse on the site at Corner Farm was retained and incorporated into the overall design of the development.
The properties have now been launched through the Old Market Place, Ripon, office of residential sales and letting agents, Linley & Simpson - and two of them have already been sold.
The remaining three are all five-bedroom, detached homes priced at £595,000 or £600,000, and will be ready to move into from late Spring 2018.
This exclusive development on the former farmyard at Corner Farm represents more than £2m of investment and enhances one of the main approaches into Copt Hewick, said David Waddington, Head of New Homes at Linley & Simpson.
Previously, it had been dominated by a large agricultural building sitting above Luncarr Lane but these homes now offer a much more attractive welcome. They have been custom-designed to mirror the character of an idyllic North Yorkshire village.
The Corner Farm development draws upon Copt Hewick's growing popularity, offering residents the opportunity of rural living whilst only two miles away from Ripon and a similar distance to the A1M.
The collection of new-build homes marks a "home grown" Yorkshire success story for housebuilders Burridge Homes, who linked up with local suppliers and contractors such as the award-winning York Handmade Brick Company, based at Alne - to turn their design plans into reality.
The long-established family firm is a past winner in the National House Building Councils (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards the industrys version of the Oscars for its delivery of high-quality homes in prized locations throughout the county, and directing projects from start to finish.
Each house enjoys a large family kitchen, ideal for family dining and entertaining with beautiful, contemporary kitchens. Integrated appliances are provided by Neff and include fridge/freezer, fan assisted oven, induction hob with extractor over. A built-in dishwasher is also included.
With LPG gas central heating, each property also benefits from underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators to the first floor.
With uPVC sliding sash windows and bricks from the local York Handmade Brick Company all under a pantile/blue slate roof, these houses have been designed to fit into a typical North Yorkshire village environment, whilst offering contemporary features such as designer-led white sanitary ware, a choice of floor tiling to the kitchen and wet areas, and electric garage doors plus an optional extra choice of glazed balustrades.
The development lies within the catchment area of the highly-regarded Ripon Grammar School, as well as Outwood Academy and Boroughbridge High School which offer excellent facilities. A good choice of primary schools exists throughout the area.
