Knaresborough
Knaresborough is an historic market town situated 3 miles to the east of the cosmopolitan spa town of Harrogate. The famous castle, built by a Norman baron c. 1100 and largely destroyed by Parliamentarian troops in 1644, is set on the cliff overlooking the river Nidd.
