Information for Parents

As a guarantor, you will want to make sure your money is safe and protected. As a registered SafeAgent, we are committed to making sure tenants money is protected through a client money protection scheme. This is why we use the Tenancy Deposit Scheme. Your deposit will be held safely here until the end of the tenancy.

Throughout the tenancy, we will also hold periodic inspections to aid tenants with the swift return of deposits; these inspections can also highlight any areas that may result in deductions from the deposit so that these can be rectified prior to move out. Inspection reports can also be sent to guarantors if requested.

What to do in Wakefield

Wakefield has a fantastic night life, with all the main activity centred around Westgate. The infamous Westgate Run, a half mile stretch of road with numerous pubs and bars, leads up to the centre of town and, with several clubs of varying size, there is no shortage of places to see you into the early hours. Monday is traditionally student night in Wakefield and various offers can be found at different establishments. There is something for everyone, from your quiet pubs to the busy cheesy Popworld and your larger night clubs such as Nocturno.

If you fancy a bit of live music or comedy, then The Hop is a great place to start. First opened in Wakefield in 2009, two further venues have been opened, The Hop Leeds in 2010 and The Hop in Sheffield in 2011. A traditional real ale house with an intimate atmosphere for live music and contemporary oh-so-cool décor. Favouring the 'unplugged' feel that comes from close contact between artists and members of the public.

The new redeveloped Unity Hall also offers a range of live music and comedy evenings.

Trinity Walk is Wakefield's stunning new shopping centre. With over 60 new shops including all the leading high street fashion brands and the largest Sainsbury's superstore in the area, it provides all your shopping needs. Whether you'd like to spend hours shopping, stop by to snap up a quick purchase or simply relax and enjoy some food or a drink at one of the shopping centre's great restaurants, cafés and eateries - there is certainly something for everyone at Trinity Walk. Student discounts starting at 10%* are available at a number of stores including New Look and River Island. *Correct at time of publishing.

The Ridings was the first under cover shopping centre in Yorkshire, having a glass lift servicing three levels and first in the UK to install an American style food court. Following many structural and cosmetic changes to the Ridings the Centre now offers high street brands including Clinton Cards, Primark, Marks and Spencer, and Boots.

Cathedral Retail Park is situated on the South edge of the city centre. It has a mix of large retail shops, including Home Bargains, The Range, B&Q, B&M and Currys PC World, as well as places to eat such as Pizza Hut, Nandos and  KFC, McDonalds & Subway. It also has a brilliant 9-screen Cineworld cinema.

Wakefield has many places to eat, ranging from your main high street chains such as McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut, Subway, and more.

Wakefield also has a host of things to do in your spare time. For the art lovers out there, we are at the heart of the Yorkshire Sculpture Triangle so why not visit the Hepworth Art Gallery, Tileyard North or go slightly further afield to visit the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is only a fifteen-minute drive out of Wakefield. Our galleries, castles, museums, hotels and attractions welcome millions of families each year.
