The area remains ever popular as a place to live and appeals to young professionals, families and those of retirement age alike creating demanding for a diverse range of properties from apartments, terraced and semi-detached houses or larger detached homes.
The UK buy-to-let market is now showing signs of recovery after COVID-19 affected the industry, with interest rates for mortgages at record lows and a wider variety of buy-to-let options available which, tied in with the current tenant demand for property, makes for an encouraging time to invest.
Vicky Atkinson, Lettings Manager at Linley & Simpson’s Skipton branch says, “Our branch is experiencing a huge surge in demand for 2 and 3 bedroom houses, apartments and cottages and we are in need of more stock to satisfy over 400 high quality, qualified applicants who are currently searching for properties with us.
We are finding that most of the people we are renting to are moving here from a city such as London and Manchester. Now that people are more interested in finding a property with a working from home space, they are finding there are many more options available in areas out of cities. People who are paying for a 1 or 2 bedroom properties in these cities can move to Skipton and have a 3 bed house with a view and home office for the same price.”
