HILLSBOROUGH is a well-known suburb of Sheffield that lies to the North West of the city.

It is a popular area with young professionals, post graduate students and young families. Access to the city centre is easy as the Sheffield Supertram connects straight from the heart of the city direct into Hillsborough and beyond to Malin Bridge.

The main road through Hillsborough is packed full of character with a great mixture of local, independent and traditional businesses. Café’s, shops, restaurants and takeaway outlets include Choco Latte coffee shop, Sette Colli an Italian restaurant, The Walkley Press an independent card and gift shop, The Flower Bowl florist, and Craftastic shop that sells art and craft materials. Local supermarkets include Sainsburys and Tescos.

You can enjoy various parks in Hillsborough including Hillsborough park, an open green space surrounded by historic buildings, sports facilities, a fishing lake and playground. There is also Ruskin Park, which hosts the annual Ruskin Park fun day. Hillsborough houses lots of the cities well known facilities such as Owlerton Park Stadium, Hillsborough Barracks and Sheffield Wednesday. Wadsley and Loxley Common is a popular place for walkers but is also full of geology, history, wild flowers and nature. Over 78 species have been seen over the last few years including rabbits, field mice, moles, squirrels, foxes and weasels.

The area is made up of terraced housing with the additions of different housing types built in small developments over the subsequent years and plenty of houses with lots of character. In the area you can typically find 3 bedroom homes for between £650 and £700pcm and 2 bedroom homes for between £550 and £600pcm.
