The UK’s fastest growing city, Leeds continues to establish itself as one of the leading cities in the country, with many professional locating to its city centre.
This makes it the perfect time to invest in property in Leeds, especially for buy-to-let investors as it has one of the highest potential yields in the UK, an average of 8.7% compared to only 3.05% in London.

Great Transport Links
Based in the heart of the UK the city has excellent transport links, making it easy to navigate anywhere on foot. With a strong transport network most professionals don’t need to own a car, meaning the majority of potential renters aren’t put off if there isn’t any parking available. There are ample bus routes which go all around the city and beyond, hop on the number 36 and get to Harrogate in no time, and on a budget too! The train station is also right on the doorstep of the city where there are direct trains to all other major cities.
There is always plenty to keep the residents of the city centre entertained, with different venues located around the centre, meaning there is something for everyone. One main attraction located at the top of the City Centre, is the First Direct Arena. The arena brings in some large names to the city and is the perfect evening out. Some upcoming acts for the arena are Sean Paul on 24th August and Billy Idol on October 25th. For those who aren’t into musicians, the arena also offers some popular comedians such as Jason Manford on October 14th. For other smaller musicians, residents can also visit local independent venues such as Belgrave Music Hall and Brudenell Social Club.
The best places for food and drinks
The City Centre is a thriving scene of independent food spots with plenty of diverse places to eat. There is plenty of choice including Trinity Kitchen or Kirkgate Market, which are full to the brim with street food stalls, perfect for large groups with different preferences. For those who prefer independent restaurants, The Reliance is the perfect balance between charming bar and rustic restaurant, with a mixture of familiar British and European dishes. Boasting the only Michelin star in Leeds, The Man Behind the Curtain, run by chef extraordinaire Michael O’Hare, with each dish being a work of art, the food has been designed to fit the luxurious setting.
Restaurants aren’t the only thing done well in the city centre, there are plenty of bars for all occasions. The Alchemist in the Trinity centre has a rooftop bar to look over the lovely view of the city, while trying one of the weird and wonderful cocktails the bar has to offer. Headrow House is a popular spot for all, housed in a 1900s former textile mile, the location has an industrial vibe running throughout the space and with a beer hall and a rooftop, it’s perfect for all! A newer edition to the city is Flight Club, the perfect place to socialise while playing darts. Don’t worry if you’re maths isn’t as good after a few drinks, the board will add it all up for you and don’t forgot about the replay!

The majority of investment properties within the City Centre are apartments and studio and with most of the centre being built up, it is no surprise these are the majority of investment properties available.
