The ongoing upgrade to the A1M at Wetherby and the opening of the country's first carbon neutral motoring service station at Kirk Deighton have further enhanced Wetherby as an area to buy and rent property. The improved road networks will provide considerable benefits to local residents through the addition of local access roads to and from Wetherby reducing congestion both on the A1 and in the villages.

The new roads will be particularly significant in reducing traffic through the villages of Thorner and Bramham. These villages already popular for renting will no longer be accessible directly from the A1 and will therefore be quieter, less polluted, more family friendly locations to choose to live. The timing of the opening of these new roads is also ideal in light of the influx of traffic expected to the area for major local events such as Bramham International Horse Trials and the Leeds Festival.
