Leeds developers have broken ground on the creation of a new £2.5m apartment complex on the doorstep of the city centre.
Abode is a collection of 23 one and two bedroom contemporary flats that is being brought to life on York Road, one of its major gateways, by Demech Properties.
Ranging in price from just £96,995 to £132,500, and in size from 430sq ft to 668 sq ft, they have been launched to market through the city centre office of Linley & Simpson.
The new-build is already triggering interest off-plan among first-time buyers as well as property investors, for whom Leeds remains a magnet for their money.
Set over four floors, and with secure parking available in a gated courtyard, all are available with support from the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which is designed to help people step on or up the homeownership ladder.
“Abode’s appeal is its blend of city and contemporary living, located just a stone’s throw from the centre and close to everything our vibrant and exciting city has to offer,” said Andy Bonner, Valuation Manage of Linley & Simpson.
“It also represents a perfect opportunity for the property investment market, given we enjoy one of the fastest-growing populations in the UK wedded to the UK’s highest growth of private sector jobs.
“Leeds has been identified as the most attractive city in the North for inward investment and is home to the largest number of high growth businesses outside London and the South East.
“It is also predicted to have one of the UK’s largest rental growth over the next five years and the forecast is that the annual price growth in Leeds will surpass Manchester, Liverpool and other major UK cities by 2020.”
All apartments contain kitchens equipped with high-quality fitted units with soft closing doors, and are complemented by a choice of work surfaces and floor covering. Appliances include an electric oven, electric (or ceramic) hob, integrated fridge and lighting is provided by discreet, recessed chrome downlighters.
