A Leeds estate agency is working with a local foodbank to offer support to people and families in the run up to Christmas.
Linley & Simpson, in Swinegate, has become a collection point for Leeds North and West Foodbank which gives food to people who find themselves in tough financial situations.
Lauren Sayles, Branch Manager at the City Centre office of Linley and Simpson, who have been in business for 20 years and open in Leeds City Centre since 2005 said:
We became aware of the rising numbers of people needing support from foodbanks to simply get by.
We were made aware of the fantastic work the volunteers at Leeds North and West Foodbank do and we were very keen to offer our support.
We will be accepting donations at our office throughout November and December and publicising the work Leeds North and West Foodbank does as much as we can.
Leeds North and West Foodbank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, who work to combat poverty and hunger across the UK by providing nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis.
