FOR many years, Headingley was the suburb of choice for families and young professionals making their life in Leeds.

There is a wide range of housing on offer for rent in the area, from purpose-built 1 and 2 bedroomed apartments to larger apartments in conversions, 2 and 3 bedroomed terraced houses and larger family semi-detached and detached homes. As the market in Headingley, Burley, Meanwood and Kirkstall continues to improve, with new listings low and demand high, we fully expect other areas to show signs of improvement as student demand continues to gravitate towards the city centre, where thousands more purpose-built student clusters and studios are under construction.

We do not expect that students will disappear completely from their traditional favourite street groups, merely that the numbers will reduce, allowing neighbourhoods hitherto pressurised by over-dense student numbers to breathe again.
