LINLEY & Simpson have supported the Chapel Allerton Playground appeal as part of their ongoing commitment to support communities in the areas they operate in.

Also known as ChapelAPlay, the group is made up of Laura B, Beth, Sarah and Laura R, a group of local mums who are working hard to raise funds to improve the playground in Chapel Allerton Park. Laura Butterworth, says 'Over the last few months, the importance of good outdoor play facilities for children has been highlighted by the recent lockdown & restrictions of the covid19 pandemic where all playgrounds were closed for a long period of time. Play is essential to the healthy development of children and young people. Their physical, social, and cognitive development can be positively impacted by play. We want to provide play spaces that challenge children and that provide opportunities for personal and social growth and development.

'The current playground has not been updated for many years. The equipment & surfacing are out-dated, tired & unsafe in some areas. We are working alongside Leeds Parks & Countryside department and also liaising with the local community to get a clear understanding of how we can improve facilities & make the park a more enjoyable place to visit now & in the future. The main objective is a playground that appeals to all ages not just young children.

'In order to be eligible for the larger funding grants we must raise a minimum of £10,000 ourselves. We’ve been given £5,000 from our local ward councillors which is a huge boost to our fundraising efforts & puts us well on the way to achieving our target, but we still need support from the community through our GoFundMe page and any donations would be very gratefully received.'

Paul Bridgeman, the Branch Manager of the Linley & Simpson Chapel Allerton branch says, 'We are committed to giving back to local community groups across our areas of operation and we're delighted to be supporting ChapelAPlay in their mission to develop and improve the playground. We are also offering them our Give Back Scheme, whereby for every person that is associated with ChapelAPlay that lets or sells a property with us, we will give £250 back to ChapelAPlay, with the aim of driving as much money back into the project as possible.'
