Linley & Simpson are supporting the Down Syndrome Training and Support Service Ltd in Bingley as part of their ongoing commitment to support communities in the areas they operate in.
The charity was founded in September 2000 by four parents who have a child born with Down syndrome. In the last 20 years the membership has grown to over 400 family members and over 290 organisational members primarily in education and health settings. Charlotte Roscoe, Funding Coordinator at the organisation says, "We aim as a charity to assist in the care of children with Down syndrome by providing support, guidance and training to those responsible for their care and to professionals with the aim of improving development, education and inclusion of children with Down syndrome."
Charlotte continues, "We greatly appreciate any donations or publicity to create awareness for our charity in Bingley. All support helps us significantly, your donations ensure we can continue all our services: training for families and professionals, early development groups, two tailored dance lessons, Saturday sessions, counselling, speech and language groups and our unique youth club. These sessions further the knowledge of parents and professionals and increase the support we can provide for young people with Down syndrome.
Linley & Simpson have donated funds to allow the organisation to upgrade their online accessibility by renewing their website. Macaulay Thompson, Branch Manager of the Linley & Simpson Bingley branch says, "We are committed to giving back to local community groups across our areas of operation and we're delighted to be supporting the Down Syndrome Training and Support Service Ltd in their mission to improve current facilities and generate more awareness. We are also offering them our Give Back Scheme, whereby for every person that is associated with the organisation that lets or sells a property with us, we will give £250 back to them, with the aim of driving as much money back into the organisation as possible."
