Linley & Simpson have partnered with Wakefield Street Kitchen in Wakefield as part of their community initiative for 2020.

Linley & Simpson have donated funds to cover the cost of the Street Kitchen purchasing a charity mascot costume to assist in their fundraising activities. Further to this, the funding has also provided the group to replace some of their existing equipment which has been coming to the end of their usable life. Andrew Howard, an Organiser at the street kitchen says, “We are delighted to have received this funding from Linley & Simpson as it will really help boost our fundraising efforts for the next few years. We are also proud to have an existing relationship with Linley & Simpson through Fiona Scott in the Wakefield branch, who has been a member of our organisation and a real asset to the team with the responsibility of organising and coordination all of our clothing donations.”

Fiona Scott, Lettings Manager of the Wakefield branch says, “We are committed to giving back to local groups and organisations in our area and I’m delighted we have been able to continue to support Wakefield Street Kitchen. The mascot we have funded now requires a name which we are turning to the help from the residents of Wakefield to come up with!

“The group are also looking for donations of chocolate selection boxes to deliver to the elderly and their carers this Christmas as well as people that are struggling in the community. Our branch in Wakefield is a dedicated drop-off area for these selection boxes so if you’re passing by or would like to donate, we would really appreciate the visit. Further to this, we are also looking for clothing donations for the homeless and vulnerable community in temporary accommodation which can also be dropped off at the branch.”

If you would like to get involved and support the Wakefield community and Wakefield Street kitchen, please visit the branch using the below address or give them a call on 01924 375245.
