WETHERBY is a pleasant market town, ideally situated between Leeds, York and Harrogate. The town is one of Yorkshire's most prestigious market places, situated on the River Wharfe with a population of around 17,000 people.

Located just off the A1 motorway, the town is home to many local amenities and services which are detailed below.

Food and drink 

Wetherby has a great food and drink scene, with many local independent pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes. Restaurants include, The Bengal Brasserie which serves traditional and speciality Bengali dishes, Don't Tell The Duke a casual dining venue with cocktails and local craft ales on offers and the famous Wetherby Whaler which is home to some of the best fish & chips you'll ever have. 

There's also a whole host of places to drink in the town, some of which include, The Mews which is tucked away just off the market, Bar 3, a perfect place to socialise at the weekend and The Red Lion- a well-established family run pub right in the centre of Wetherby. 


There are many organised communities and sports groups in the town, including support groups- Friends of Sandringham Park, Wetherby in Bloom, Wetherby in Support of the Elderly, Wetherby District Foodbank and more. There are also plenty of groups you can join for leisure including the Wetherby Art Group who meet in the Church centre from 1:30-3:30pm every Friday, Wetherby Bridge Club who meet every week day evening on Crossley Street and the Wetherby Musical Theatre Group, an amateur musical theatre and drama group based in Wetherby which perform pantomimes and shows throughout the year. There are many other things to do and get involved with in Wetherby including:

- A visit to Wetherby Film Theatre which brings you live screenings of theatre, opera, dance, music and sport events from around the globe.
- A day at Wetherby Racecourse which is a place to entertain clients, colleagues, family and friends. 
- August Bank Holiday weekend at Leeds Festival, the largest festival in Yorkshire that returns to Bramham Park every year. Tickets are available now and acts include Stormzy, Liam Gallagher and Two Door Cinema Club.

  • A visit to Wetherby Sports Association, a community hub for sports clubs and societies including Wetherby Bulldogs, Wetherby Athletic, Wetherby Runners, Wetherby Wheelers, Wetherby Petanque and many more.

Walkers Court 

A brand new development that has just launched to market in Wetherby is Walkers Court. An imaginative conversion of two existing buildings into 16 one and two bedroom apartments over two floors.
