The Boston Spa-based hospice, which cares for children with life-limiting conditions and their families from across Yorkshire, is only able to continue its work thanks to fund-raising done throughout the year.

Linley & Simpson has pledged to support the charity's work by donating £5 from every successful tenancy and £10 from every marketing fee received from new landlords, throughout its network of nine Yorkshire offices - Wetherby, Harrogate, Ripon, York, Ilkley, Wakefield, and three in Leeds.

Each branch will also give a different meaning to 'Home Sweet Home' as they start selling snacks and confectionary as part of the SnakAppeal initiative benefiting Martin House.

Staff are showing their support by taking part in Tough Mudder, a hardcore 13-mile military obstacle course designed by the Special Forces to test all-round strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie.

Brenda Peel, corporate fundraiser at Martin House, said: "Every year, Martin House cares for and supports more than 450 local children with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, both during the life of the child and into bereavement. We need to raise most of the money we need via donations and every penny helps.

"The innovative fundraising ideas and support from Linley & Simpson are a great way of contributing to our funding."

Linley & Simpson director Will Linley said: "Many of us know someone whose life has been touched by the wonderful care offered by Martin House. It holds a unique place in the hearts of the Yorkshire community and we hope our efforts will make a positive difference to it and the young children and families it supports at such difficult times but in such a caring way."
